Golf Outing to Benefit Feed My People

September is National Hunger Action Month and SERVPRO of Eau Claire is taking action by hosting a golf outing to benefit Feed My People Food Bank (FMP) at Lake Wissota Golf. All proceeds will go to provide food to families facing hunger in west central Wisconsin.

"Food shouldn't be an impossible choice. We are so grateful to the community for their support. Hunger Action Month is a time to highlight all the ways that people can engage in hunger relief. We encourage people to learn about local hunger and ways to help those who are struggling with food insecurity. The golf outing that SERVPRO is having to raise money and awareness for our mission is a wonderful example of how our community can get involved in solving hunger," shared Nancy Renkes, Executive Director of FMP.

For thousands of people in west central Wisconsin, a daily meal isn't a choice between different dishes. It's a choice between food and other crucial needs - like medicine, electricity, or childcare. Staff and volunteers at FMP have been packing emergency food bags and backpack meals and distributing them to nearly 250 hunger-relief organizations throughout west central Wisconsin.

"The people in our community and their family's needs will always come first. SERVPRO of Eau Claire chose Feed My People because we believe in their mission to provide food to those in need to build a stronger community," said James Johnson, marketing representative of SERVPRO of Eau Claire.

Anyone still interested in attending may sign up online between now and Friday, September 10. Registration begins at 10:30 am and the event runs from 12:15 pm to 7 pm. There will be a hole-in-one contest to win a car. For more information contact Servpro of Eau Claire by visiting www.servproecgolf.com.
