Announcing Our New Strategic Plan

The last several years have required Feed My People Food Bank (FMP) and our partner network to look for new ways to meet unforeseen challenges. With your support, we have worked hard to meet an ever-changing level of food insecurity in our community. We have learned that we are stronger together, and partnership and collaboration are critical to our work. We also realized it was time for a new strategic plan that encourages innovation and new ideas while keeping us focused on creating equitable access to food for healthier communities.

The FMP Staff and Board recently finished a new strategic plan that can be summarized with the phrase "forward-thinking." After listening to the voices of our partners, guests, volunteers, donors, and other community members, we have updated our mission, identified our vision and values, and targeted four goal areas.

Mission:

Creating Equitable Access to Food for Healthier Communities

Vision:

Ending Hunger in West Central Wisconsin

Values:

Collaboration - Embracing teamwork to strategically address food insecurity through collective efforts.

Inclusion - Cultivating a welcoming environment that honors all individuals and families.

Integrity - Championing honest and transparent operations to build trust and accountability.

Kindness - Demonstrating compassion and empathy towards those in need.

Sustainability - Committing to environmentally conscious practices and resource management.

Goals:

  • Catalyze the strengths of our partner network to enhance access to healthy food for those facing food insecurity.
  • Grow a responsive and resilient food system focusing on regional, diverse sources that meet nutritional needs.
  • Engage our community in new ways while being good stewards of the resources entrusted to FMP.
  • Build organizational capacity to amplify impact.

"This new strategic plan is timely and essential. The past few years have reinforced the necessity of Feed My People's role as a leader in the community. We need them to be strong so our community can remain strong through anything," shared Paul Kohler, FMP board member and the Senior Vice President Western Banking Manager at Nicolet National Bank.

FMP is not solely a building, a staff, or a board. It's an organization that engages with the community to collectively improve the lives of those facing food insecurity. As we begin fulfilling this new strategic plan, we are energized and inspired to continue this important work. Thank you for being a part of this community!
